Interview with Giorgos Papadopoulos of Streetwise

Streetwise are a Greek (Larissa to be exact) band that play old-school NYHC like Agnostic Front, Lionheart, Biohazard, early Hatebreed, Madball etc. They just released a new EP on vinyl that you can get here and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If that sort of music is your thing, don’t sleep on the EP. It’s limited. George had a few words to say, so here that are!

If you were to introduce extraterrestrials to music with only five records, what do you choose?

Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss, Bad Religion - Suffer, Agnostic Front - One Voice, Sick of It All - Built To Last, Ryker's - Brother Against Brother

If you could play guitar in ANY band, what band would it be, and why?

Bad Religion definitely !!! My all time favourite band

Streetwise just released an epic new EP. How long have you guys been around and how did you get started?

We have been around since 2008. I started the band when i met George (drums) and George (first bass player). Antony (singer) came a few months later. I had some songs written already and we started rehearsing our own material. A lot of shows since then and lucky to share stage with bands like Biohazard, Ryker's, Agnostic Front, Backfire, Lionheart, First Blood and many more.

Are there any bands past or present you wish had more attention?

Right 4 Life from France. They were so great. Amazing songwritting and lyrics. One of the best european hardcore bands ever. Bleed Into One from Germany and Worth The Pain from Finland also.

What's next for Streetwise, and can we expect a Full Length in the near future?

I have written 5 new great songs and i work on 3-4 more. They are amazing. I am thinking of releasing a full lp adding 3 old songs which are hymns and deserve proffecional production. It will take a while till it’s done though.
